Capital Quarter is a residential development in Cardiff city centre, part of the wider regeneration of the Capital Quarter area around the city’s business district. Midwest delivered the RC frame package for main contractor ISG.
The Package
The scope covered the reinforced concrete structure for the residential blocks: formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement repeated across the building’s floors in line with ISG’s programme. City-centre residential frames like this one bring their own constraints — tight site boundaries, limited laydown space, and closer coordination with neighbouring works — all of which shape how the pour cycle and material deliveries are planned floor by floor.
Capital Quarter is one of three schemes Midwest has delivered for ISG, alongside the Cardiff Interchange development in the same city and Croxley Park in Watford — a relationship spanning both Wales and the South East.
