Cardiff Interchange

Cardiff Interchange is a major transport-led development in the Welsh capital, combining a new commercial building with the city’s transport hub. Midwest was appointed by ISG to deliver the reinforced concrete frame package for this landmark scheme.

The Package

The frame package covered formwork, reinforcement fixing, and concrete placement across the structure’s floor plates, sequenced to ISG’s programme. Transport-led developments in a city centre setting bring their own coordination demands — deliveries, plant movements, and pour timings all have to be planned around the surrounding infrastructure and public realm, while still meeting the tolerances and service integration a commercial building of this scale requires.

Cardiff Interchange is one of three schemes Midwest has delivered for ISG to date, alongside Capital Quarter in the same city and Croxley Park in Watford. Landing a landmark, high-visibility scheme like this one from a returning client is the clearest evidence of the trust built across that relationship.
