Gala Bingo is a large-format commercial leisure venue in Nottingham city centre, delivered for main contractor Winvic. Midwest’s scope was the reinforced concrete frame for the facility.
The Package
The frame package covered formwork erection, reinforcement fixing, and concrete placement across the building’s structure, sequenced to Winvic’s programme. Large-format leisure buildings typically call for wider clear spans and fewer internal structural divisions than residential or office frames, which shifts the emphasis onto larger single pours and precise coordination of transfer structures, rather than the repetitive floor-by-floor cycle of a multi-storey block.
Gala Bingo is one of two schemes Midwest has delivered for Winvic, alongside the Lancaster Street residential development in Birmingham — a relationship spanning both commercial and residential sectors.
